Below are some examples of the other services that DWL can offer.
If we can help you with any other language-related problem, please contact us to discuss further.
DWL will review your foreign-language literature (as part of the systematic review process) to evaluate the content against a specially-designed questionnaire and to extract and translate only the required, relevant information into your native language. This prevents time and money being wasted on the translation of materials that may not prove relevant to the objectives of your review.
DTP services & document conversions
DWL offers file conversions and the unlocking of uneditable files. DWL will also bookmark and create the QRD-compliant PDF files required for MAAs, upon request.
DWL applies its strict Quality Management System to all projects, but can also offer linguistic validation and other additional levels of document and translation quality control, e.g. back translation and comparison against the original source text, multiple (simultaneous) translations or back translations and reconciliation, patient cognitive debriefing, or additional in-country reviews.
DWL conducts linguistic consistency reviews for various documents in a wide variety of languages, for example to ensure that the Product Information of a medicinal product involving more than one strength and/or presentation is linguistically consistent throughout.
DWL offers proofreading services, e.g. the polishing/editing of books and scientific papers by one of our medical editors to render the document fit for publishing.
Computer Aided Translation
DWL uses MemoQ and Trados Studio Computer Aided Translation (CAT) software, where applicable, to ensure consistency between translated documents and the continued use of preferred terminology within projects. DWL can also use CAT tools to analyse text and see whether timelines and costs can be reduced for its clients. We welcome collaboration with clients to establish a termbase specific to their projects. For clients with their own CAT tools, DWL can help to create and maintain your translation memories.
DWL can advise you of the intricacies of translating into a particular language. For example, can numbers (such as the shelf life of a medical product) simply be changed in a Slovene document? The answer is no! Numbers in certain languages carry a case that can cause the surrounding words to take different forms and endings. So beware of changing seemingly “small” things in your translated files – check with DWL!
Are you planning a European Marketing Authorisation? DWL’s regulatory affairs experts can advise you of the requirements for your multilingual submissions. Why not let DWL handle the entire translation process for you?
